I can hear the statement from the camera man now.
"We were just having fun, we weren't hurting anyone. He had no right to shoot him! He just murdered him right there in front of me!" I can also believe that some dipshit DA would try to prosecute the shooter because of what the now dead dumbass said to the driver before he got in. I went to go buy a jon boat from a guy. I pulled into his driveway and was about to get out of the car when some young guy came up on the passenger side blind spot and opened my passenger door as I unlocked it. He got to see the muzzle of a .38 up close and just about shit his pants. He was selling organic cleaning solutions door to door on the street. |

I'm pretty sure there's no crime in entering someone's home and I don't believe there's a crime entering a car. However, once you circumvent a lock, or bypass a no trespassing sign or its equivalent, or manifest intent to commit a crime, then you have a crime. If someone shot him, sure the stupid kid would be dead, but the shooter would not walk free...even in Florida. Having said that, their intent was to enter vehicles knowing they were fraudulently invited or assumed it was permitted to enter...that kind of intent might save a shooter during the wrongful death suit.
Is anyone aware of any state who's castle doctrine allows shooting someone where there was no threat to life or limb? |

A stranger entering a house uninvited is considered prima facie evidence of ill intent. I know many states allow a home-owner to shoot anyone in their house uninvited. |

The Castle Doctrine in SC (used to live there) does not require the circumvention of a lock, or bypassing anything. This also extends to your vehicle. |
