Are there any ways to speed it up? It is bad for watching videos on youtube, hulu and class lectures.

Get a better internet provider...

What is the speed of the adapter in your computer?  Is it as fast as the router or wireless connection you are connected to?

Upgrade those first...

Make sure your laptop and router are wireless N.
Pay for more bandwidth.

Those are pretty much your only options.

DSL?  FiOS?  Cable?

If you have bitchin-fast speeds on wired connections - try running 802.11n on 5Ghz, there is less stuff in that spectrum.

Try changing channels on your wireless router.  You may have something interfering with your connection on the current channel that you are on.  If that doesn't work, you may want to try a different router.

What kind of signal are you getting on your antenna?  You can buy an external antenna for many wireless cards.  I get a much better signal with mine.

Wireless as in Wifi?

Wireless as in cellular data card?   3G?  2G/edge?   4G?   Clear?

Your question is like saying 'my car is slow, how can I make it go faster?'.... with no additional info.

This.

Even 802.11 G is way faster than the incoming connection. I use N, but only because I transfer a lot of large files back and forth across my LAN.
