A spray can of WD40/cheap hair spray and a lighter is impressive

A garden sprayer with gas and lighter is good to ( metal wand) with a small can of fire wired to it will put out a 6 to 10 foot flame

1/2” to 5/8” thick 2 to 3 foot long rebar and some string or tape for a good handle
Unscrew or break off a table leg. It is like a baseball bat

Pick ax handle is a good swing weapon

A garden machete is basically a short sword to someone who swings one on a regular basis
It can easily take a arm off if sharp
Look up what happens in Jamaica when the sugar Cain workers fight after hitting the rum bars after work

The question is time
5 seconds
5 minutes
5 hours
This makes a big difference in what you can create from what is at hand

See if the tops of the cubicles have a metal cap that runs the length of the top, some can be as long as 4 -6 feet.

Learn how to remove the knife arm on a paper cutter.  It is usually pretty =easy.  Hyper extend the knife past the top stop and they usually slide right off.

I have a length of Cat6 with a big nut on the end of it hanging on the wall of my cube.

When asked I say it’s a weight for pulling cable…

I miss the days of gallon jugs of copier fluid under the copier.  Extremely flammable and easy to light.

You do know the 'edges' on those things are not like a knife or sword, right? They're squared off. It's a pretty sharp square, but it ain't going to slice like a machete or anything.

Still not a bad weapon if you can get it off. It's at least a good club!

Grew up in the drywall trade and it was my profession for most of my life. That being said I would use my lath hatchet/drywall hammer. I have had one of these in my hand daily for close to 40 years. I'm actually pretty at good throwing it and hitting within a few inches of where I aim it at distances up to 25'-30'. The old man used to chew me out for goofing off on the job "playing Daniel Boon" as he called it, LOL.

I agree that it's not an answerable question.

You are likely to find some sort of blunt weapon. A framing hammer would be my choice. A baseball bat, close second. A youth softball bat is a lightweight one-handed blunt weapon that will easily incapacitate somebody.

Some of these suggestions are OK.  Many/most are not going to get you on a plane (or even into a sporting event).
Key takeaway from the previous thread - a cane is a medical device that they must allow you to take anywhere.    Of course, if you're in your mid-20s and healthy-looking, it may be a bit harder to pull off.   But I understand they are not allowed to question your medical needs.   And there's a whole world of defensive canes out there, including martial arts training in their use.

When I was stationed in Germany in the '70s, I wore a 44" belt (my waist was 32) with a giant half pound cast eagle belt buckle I'd picked up at a carnival. Wore it outside the loops, and when I started twirling that buckle around at the end of that long belt, it would sing.

I chased off at least one asshole with a knife without ever having to close. He heard that big gold buckle whistling through the air and legged it.

These days, given my pronounced limp, I can get away with leaning on a Cold Steel Blackthorne cane.

When I was a kid, alley whips were pretty popular, partly because you didn't have to carry them. Any time you really needed one, the nearest car probably had one already sticking up out of the fender.
