BTW, Arkansas Black is supposed to be wonderful. Hard to find, though. Pink Lady also very good, but haven't seen them around yet this season.

The correct answer is
Honey Crisp
If you didn't get the answer right because you haven't tried one yet, then I pity your empty and hollow life.

Total fail: Where's JONATHAN: the best-eating apple God ever devised. Jonagolds are good, but a straight Jonathan is better.
Red Delicious? You've got to be kidding. It's a joke, right? An apple made to look good. Tastes like crap, though.

I voted Johnagold....easy to grow with great flavor, great for baking, eating fresh and drying.
While Fuji is a great apple...I cant grow them in our area.

Fujis are my favorite that's readily available at the grocery store. Other than that, I really like Honey Crisps, Braeburns, and Winesaps.

I have a very thorough process I go by at the store to pick apples. They have to pass the visual test, then a squeeze test.
I love picking apples in the Fall!
