I ordered a scope from opticsplanet and it qualified for the free shipping. Apparently their free shipping is with Fedex Dumbpost. I ordered it on the 21st and it shipped the 22nd. It made it within 2 hours of my house and just quit moving. This was on the 23rd. It said it departed that location on the 23rd but it's never made it anywhere. I called Fedex and they said USPS had it, I called USPS and they said it would have been here by now if they had it. I called Fedex AGAIN and they said that it was still in Fedex possession but they didn't know where it was. It was supposed to be delivered last Thursday. This is really aggravating especially since it was $200 and I'm ready to shoot my gun. Anybody had similar problems like this with opticsplanet or Fedex? I guess it's not technically opticsplanet's fault but I wish I would have known, I would have just paid for better shipping ugh.

It's at the post office. FedEx hauls it to the local post office where the goverment union employees handle it the last step of the way.

I share your frustrations with FedEx Smartpost.  I've got an order from Optics Planet that is slowly working it's way here via Smartpost as well.  I guess the only thing to do is wait it out or pony up some $$ for a different shipping method.

I called opticsplanet and they are starting a trace on it so hopefully I hear something soon. I just hope it makes it here by next month lol

I had a similar situation last week with UPS/post office.  It was at my local post office, the vendor had damaged the shipping lable when they sealed the package, and the final delivery address was not readable.  The UPS barcoding system got it to the post office, but from there, they didn't know where to deliver it.  When they found it for me, it was in the pile of undeliverables being sent back to their points of origin.

Next month is about 7 hours away, so I wouldn't be too surprised if you miss that window.

Fedex Smartpost routing involves throwing it on the next truck to somewhere as long as it leaves the warehouse. I had a package take 10 days to go from Texas to Wisconsin to Florida back to Kentucky and then finally to Michigan and yes it showed up on the day the tracking originally showed.

But seriously once it hits the USPS system its delivery confirmation only tracking so don't expect real time updates of it's location until 24 hrs after you have it. If it doesn't show on Wednesday call optics planet and have them start a claim.

Well I don't feel quite so scared now lol I already called opticsplanet to get a trace going just to be safe. Their site said to contact them if it hasn't moved in 48 hours. I hope they find something soon.
