I am sick of folks selling stuff and asking for an added 3% to cover fees via Paypal.

I know Paypal sucks but get ahold of yourselves. The biggest problem I have is with online retailers doing it. They pay the same fees every month to accept credit cards through companies like authorize.net. Why jack buyers around for an extra buck or two?

Rant over...

Why should the seller pay the fee?  I hate selling stuff just because I get 20 emails from morons asking me if I'll take paypal.  Ebay people were even worse..I clearly stated 'No paypal!' and they still emailed me and even tried to argue with me about it.

Seller makes the rules, if you don't like it then don't buy it.

When I sell something I give buyers the chance to pay with a CC through paypal and add 3%.  But they can always use a money order as well.

What I am getting at is that if you were a business and accepted credit cards you would still pay them the same fees every month to handle your CC transactions. The Wally Word does not charge me 3% to use a credit card, they eat the fees themselves.

Just mark up your damn item a buck or two to make up for the fees so we dont have to feel like we are paying more on top of what we already agreed to pay. Or eat the fees already, every retailer in the world does.

Credit card contracts make doing that a breach of contract I believe.

I think it is right to charge folks using paypal that percent, you are costing the seller money because you choose to use that form of payment.

I think credit cards should also cost the user of the plastic rather than the seller of the merchandise, but plastic is so huge that won't happen.

I personally still always ask for a cash discount when buying in person.  When I buy or sell on the net, money order is about all I use and all I accept.
