Many people just love a good old street fight. Entire websites devoted to nothing but watching idiots beat each other for some slight, real or imagined.
There is almost nothing I can think of that a person could say that would drive me to a physical fight. Sure, there's lots of actions, but no words. Why do these idiots fight over words? What would it take for you to get physical. |

It's bout da disrespecting yo This...you must live in a pretty nice part of Texas OP. I live in a suburb of Dayton, and weekly if not daily all you have to do is watch the local news to see lives taken over "disrespect." I can't count the number of times I heard "a verbal argument turned into gunfire...." It makes absolutely no sense to me. ETA: the best ones are when someone gets their feelings hurt, and just randomly opens fire into a crowd, not caring who they hit, "cuz sum1 gotta pay" I do NOT understand that fucking culture.

Physical confrontation is generally the end result of either immaturity or low IQ combined with intoxication. Though intoxication is not required.
Fighting is stupid. I used to get in fights because I used to be stupid. I fixed the stupid, found a better playground and better playmates. No more fights. |

Sometimes going few rounds can solve some personal differences. Combat arms guys can agree. While it is understandable to become fed up with someone that you have to spend a significant amount of time around, I took this to mean something being said from a stranger. |

Said something? So what. Unless they say something like, "i'm about to rape and kill you" who cares. Talk your trash while we walk away laughing at how sad you are. Quoted:

Kid was getting in his face and just being annoying to my nephew. Nephew told the counselors, they didn't care. So a little bit later my nephew expressed his displeasure with the other child's actions in a way so basic even the dumbest of people could understand it. Some people can only be corrected with a basic smack to the head. ETA: for me, it would be self defense or defense of another person. Say what you want, call names, I don't care. There are only a select few people whose opinion matter to me, and some asshole on the street ain't one of them. |

As we get older, we learn to express ourselves better and fighting becomes less and less necessary. Every once in a while, though, you just have to hit a motherfucker. |
| In my teens it was fun. Even into my early 20s. It wasn't about anything important. Just a challenge, sometimes it involved alcohol, most of the time it didn't. Was it stupid? Maybe, but it is what it is. I can't really explain it, I just like to do it. Sometimes I lost, sometimes I didn't. |

Better question- why wouldnt you enter a justified scrap? The situation obviously dictates (don't enter a fight you're guaranteed to lose) but if its justified and you stand a fair chance, why not? 99% of the time it ends in a fat lip / black eye. A fair fight is humbling and the pinnacle of competition, I think they're healthy for a level headed person (in moderation).
That being said there are many people you simply cannot win against. You fight a piece of shit in the street and win-- you beat up a glorified hobo, good on you. If you lose? You got your ass beat in the street by a hobo. |
| If you get me into a fight its going to be over something more than words. When you do put me in the situation I do intend to hurt you severely. I have been in a few fights. Lost a couple won a couple. The ones I lost I got hit first usually when I wasn't looking. The ones I won I knocked the hell out of them without saying a word. The one thing I have learned though is that I am too old to fight. I will either cut your guts out or shoot you because for me to e in a fight it will mean I am totally justified in using the maximum force I can muster. What the hell are a few meaningless words from a idiot going to do to me. |
| Fighting(sometimes to the death) used to be a standard method of resolving personal disputes and settling matters of honor at every social level. Some of us have abandoned that, while others will still put it all on the line over an insult or something similar. |

Alcohol.
Pure and simple. Alcohol will allow otherwise sane people to become stupid and violent. The best part is that as a depressant it causes the thought process to slow along with the body so a sober person become Chuck Norris or Jackie Chan fast when fighting a drunk. |

I used to work the door at a bar in college. Never could believe how many drunk fights I saw start over 50-cents on a pool table. I was a club DJ and bartended at quite a few bars. Alcohol is the primary reason. Sober people never fight over "you lookin at my girl, faggot?!" Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I used to be willing to throw down anywhere, anytime, anyplace. Got my ass handed to me more than I won.
Now, I don't really see any need for it. It's not worth the potential legal hassle of assault charges, etc. There really is nothing worth getting in a fistfight over. I look at fistfights like I do carrying a gun. If it isn't life threatening, it ain't fucking worth it. I don't care if I look like a bitch for backing down, but there is a lot of things people try to start shit over that it's just better to walk away from. |
I do NOT understand that fucking culture.
