| I have a Filson oil treated jacket. This summer, mice got into my shop and made my damn jacket a nest with mouse piss and shit stuck to it. It was an expensive jacket. Can those be washed? |

There should be a tag inside, but I'm pretty sure you're just supposed to wipe them down. I think Filson will reapply the oil/wax coating they use, or that may be Barbour.

Waxing is a fairly straight forward process. If they didn't chew your coat to shred you should be good to go after washing and waxing. Yeah, it came with wax but that was years ago. They did chew some holes but not too many or too big. The urine and shit is really welded on there. Damn. |

Use a little bit of soap Ivory brand seems not to affect anything, to clean out the mouse pee and poop, scrape it out if needed. Rinse well Hang to dry a day or two Send to Filson, have holes sewn up, and re-waxed Enjoy coat upon return in two weeks. |
