Lately I've seen alot of guys sporting longer fingernails. We hired a guy fresh out of college as an engineer at my work and when I went to shake his hand I damn near pulled back cause his hands were mushy soft and he had weird ass long fingernails. I have to keep mine all the way to the quick because they get bent back and gnared up cause I work with my hands. I take good care of my hands but this is ridiculous. How do you longnails keep from getting your nails bent while working? Is it that we are breeding softer men now who don't use their hands to work with? And as a second thought, when you shake hands, put a tad bit of squeeze in there, shaking hands like a fairy isn't a good thing.

Unless you're a professional classical guitarist, cut those things back.

I used to know a guy who ALWAYS shook hands like a wet rag.  It was the creepiest damn thing.  Big strong guy, wet weak handshake.

Call me a curmudgeon, but I think that says a lot about a person.. None of it good.

I do not shake hands, for the most part, people are filthy pigs. I am not interested in touching what they have recently / last touched.

I absolutely despise the mushy handshake.  A good firm handshake is a sign of confidence IMO.

OTOH, the post-initial-contact hand squeeze has been adopted by some effeminate types to hide their gheyness.  It doesn't work...try a back rub next time, it has the same effect.
