Browser was working fine last night.  brought it up this morning and now it messed up.  All my favorites in the 'bookmark" drop down and the favs bookmark is gone.  I have checked the toolbar in "view".  The favs are still listed when I use "organize bookmarks"  There is also a 2 1/2 inch "blank" under the window when fully expanded.  Any ideas?

Still don't know what happened.  Definitely a FF problem tho.  Started in "safe Mode" and it's fine.  Maybe a V2 problem.  Hope everyone else's is working.

If it updated, it will start the next time like that.

Classic FF problem. Search their web site for help on this (missing bookmarks). It involves copying a backup FF keeps of all bookmarks back into the primary bookmark folder. Sorry I can't be more specific without doing the search for you!

For the Bookmarks;

(C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\) You should see one folder in there, open it and you should see "bookmarkbackups". In the folder you should see five back up files, copy the one with a date before you had a problem.

(C:\Program files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile) Paste in the back up. You may have to rename the file to "bookmarks", without the date to get your old ones to show up.

Thanks!  That got the bookmarks bar back, but still have the space at the bottom.  It's like the window won't expand all the way.  I'm running dual monitors with diff sizes and it performs the same in either.

I would uninstall firefox and then reinstall it. That should get rid of the bar and your bookmarks should remain.

If I remember correctly, that is what I did to get rid of that bar on my nephews computer when he had that problem.

I got the same gray bar after I updated Netscape yesterday.  Using Firefox now.

ETA:  reintalled Netscape and the bar is gone.

Found it!  It was a bad extension from an Add-on.  Had to eliminate the add ons one at a time, but that's what it was.

Found it under "gray bar" in Mozilla Support.....
