I came across a thread on some firearm/ammo inventory software and I thought I'd share.

It's still in it's developmental stages, but it's a heck of a lot better than GunSafe.

Looks good...but the one thing I do like about gunsafe is that you don't have to install it and you can run it directly from a flash drive...anyone know if this one will be similar? I've been thinking of writing a nice powerful inventory software, but mine would be an installation...don't think it would be worth the time for me since I get by with gunsafe.

+1 for excel....I keep a simple list of S/N's in the event of fire / theft / boating accident for insurance reasons. Outside of that I see no reason to make permanent records of my inventory.
I know what I own.

+2 to Excel.

I'm no MS Office whiz, but it seems to me that's why they make spreadsheet programs.  Of course, my inventory consists solely of an outdated email I sent to my insurance agent.  Probably should throw that info into Excel & update my coverage, since that email list was at least 3 guns ago.
