| Do fireman wash their trucks?Or does someone else do it |
|
We do it. Plus mow the yard, clean the toilets, mop and wax the floors, take out the trash, and cook our meals.
Edit.... wax the trucks, clean out all the compartments, wipe down the door seals, polish the chrome, armoral the tires. Once a month we have to steam clean the underside and engine area so the mechanic doesn't get dirty. |

The fire trucks? Yes... we wash them! At least at my station... The driver operator/engineer & the rookie/probie usually indulge in that task.... Unless we had somebody doing community service. Then you are just watching them like a hawk. That too.... We get a lot of community service folks... |

The city i worked for had dedicated employees for city property maintenance and landscape and all that stuff, i never once saw them. So yeah, we did everything ourselves.
We couldn't wear t-shirts or watch TV between 8-5 either despite what people think. With a lot of professional (paid) departments it is like a regular workday with chores and regular station duties. We never just sat around and did nothing unless it was at night. |

I live just up the street from a firehouse and drive by it every morning on the way to work.
Every morning they have that truck out and they are washing it. I mean every morning - that truck could be sparkling clean and they still take it out every morning and wash it... |
