It normally happens when I try to print something. Do a Preview what I'm going to print, and before it does it dies.

The message I sent the Mozzila people the last time Firefox died on me:

Firefox almost always dies when I try to print something.  I wanted to print something, it died.
Before I print anything I almost always want to see a preview to see if what I want is correctly formatted for starters.  This time I managed to print a Single Web page and it worked. When I went back to print page 2 it died. Again.

The last upgrade, 3.5, seems to have fixed it. Firefox hasn't bothered me in some time.

BOOOOOO
.

If anything use Google Chrome or Firefox, there are NO other browsers for Windows that are worthwhile!!!

@ OP:You should try to clear the browser cache first before reinstalling it.

If version 3.5

Tools ––> Options ––> Advanced ––> Network Tab ––> Clear Now

Start in safemode, disable all add-ons and restart.
you could have a bad add-on or plugin.

Do you or anyone that uses your computer visit Facebook, Farmville?

My wife and kids have and I believe that's why I've had to reinstall two operating systems this weekend.

I'm trying to track the cause down, and all fingers are pointing to Farmville.

It's corrupting one of my .sys files and giving me the dreaded blue screen.

the G/F was on Facebook  a week ago, she went to some friends page or something and went to click on a video that was embedded or in someones "comments" section. i said "dont click on that !" too late.

someone under that video commented " yeah its a virus"

i dont know if thats the actual cause but it damn well could be, or firefox is just missing something or has issues.

but like i said i have done a shitload of virus scanning, and its still going on.

what if i tried system restore to like a month ago ?

delete the firefox folders in program files and reinstall.

export your bookmarks and passwords so you don't have to resave them after reinstalling firefox

If you have a virus, usually it will not go away with a system restore.

It sounds more likely that you have a browser hijack or some sort of malware.

If you really think your computer is infected with something, it most likely is malware/spyware and/or a browser hijack.

use spybot, which is free.

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

and MalwareBytes:

and hijack this:

I suggest using all 3 of these as there is no single anti-malware program that will find everything.

firefox keeps crashing, so i clicked on one of the little help tabs in the error box, and it suggested that the SKYPE program might be the issue, so i just uninstalled SKYPE and we will see what happens...
