Went down to the lake last night to watch the fireworks show. Had a great time, but like the fool I sometimes am, I had forgotten to switch my tripod mount from my other camera body to the new one. Got the location I wanted, set the tripod up, and no mount on my body. Genius. I had to set the camera on top and hold on for dear life just for a little stability. I'm not particularly thrilled about the outcome, but it's better than nothing, I suppose. You can see the shake...

Still irritated at myself, but you can be sure I won't make that mistake again!

IMO, the effects caused by the motion of the camera actually add a little something. Nice pics, OP.

Nice pictures! I took my camera out with me last night as well. This year, I wised up and brought my remote-release. Once I got everything dialed in, it was nice to be able to sit back and watch the show while snapping away on the camera.

Great pics.  At first I was going to take my camera down to the beach this year for the fireworks but decided not to.  When I got there, there must have been 20 other people taking pictures and I was glad I gave myself the night off.

I hope you don't mind if I throw a few of my shots in here.  I'm not a pro, but I'm really happy with the way my pictures turned out.  First attempt at taking fireworks pictures.

Nice pics guys. Independence Day was my first time photographing fireworks, and stupid me didn't think to get the foreground in much of them.

Here is one I did like though.
