And tomorrow and the next day . Just made the yearly ritual visit to Wyoming this morning . Damn road construction made me miss the usual spot , but the next exit had several stands . DAMN I love fireworks . I've got some great memories of shopping for them in Tenn. / NC with my dad who told me stories of the shit they had when he was a kid in the Bronx ...something called a Torpedo . He said it was round , about the size of a golf ball . These things "...would blow down a wall" they went off on impact . I grew up with M-80s , Cherry Bombs , Silver Salutes the good stuff . I suppose they were dangerous , but holy shit what fun . I can remeber in the summer time us kids would unroll hundereds of firecrackers till we would have a baby food jar full of that silver "flash powder".......... there were some experiments that were frighting . Oh well , gotta go find a punk (the kind you lite)  WhooHooWhoo hoo hoo .

I use to go down into Tennessee every year and get a shitload of fireworks (with family when I was younger). Even though illegal in Kentucky, I had one hell of a show at my house from 1984-2001 annually. Family and friends would come over, we'd have a barebecue, then we'd unleash hell. Man, that was so much fun. Those huge bottle rockets, 1000 and 4000 firecracker strings, aerial shells, Saturn missile batteries, you name it, I had it. I lived in a rural area and never did have any problems or complaints. But I stopped having these after 2001 because another fella I knew had a shell mysteriously explode on him as he was lighting it. It screwed his wrist up pretty badly. After that, I started thinking and was afraid someone might get hurt at my place too if I continued. So now I just have the barbecue and go into town to watch their fireworks show. Hehe. It's also far less expensive. |

Yea Ive a "list" that I wont deal with . Anything that takes off slowly is out , cause they can go in any direction . Bottle rockets are good cause they are more or less aimable . My therory is you can have fun , you just have too make sure someone in the neighborhood is being louder and more obnoxious than you . I thought the whole world quit in 2002 (after911) not a single firecracker pop all summer . It just didnt seem right that year .
