Well, I finally got what I asked for. I'm being transferred off
the building, where I worked mainly G/P 4-5 and I'm going to Ad Seg. Moving from nights to days as well. 0330 and I'm ready to move out. I'll post an update when I get home tonight. |

Ad Seg rocks. My LT looks like a bigger version of Tony Saprano, and
the SGT looks like a bulldog that got his head caught in a pinch press. As opposed to the building, it's a big change. Crooks are crooks, and bosses are bosses. There's no pussyfooting. They do what we say when we say it or their behavior is corrected. I have three more days of OJT then I'm on my own...Frankly, I'm ready to go right now, but we have to follow the program. LT says I'm going to be on forced move teams right away. I was too tired to post last night, so I'm posting as I'm ready to move out to say two. |

good luck..I wouldn't work our seg for love nor money. 40 year old dirty, ratty building with cell doors held together with sheet metal screws..no managers with balls and squads that don't know how to spell consistency. "consistency" ... the saim way ever tyme. Ever tyme. Ever singl tyme

Quoted: damn..that's higher then our entire count! Our seg holds 26. Quoted: what's your count in seg? Give or take 500. Depending on the day. 6 pods A-F of 84 each. There's more at 11 Bldg which houses solitary, transient, pre hearing detention and protective custody. |

That is a sizable seg population. Just curious... how many officers to that population? The admin seg I worked at the county lockup years ago had 3 officers to a population of 48... but at anyone time, only 4 would be out of cells (1 per pod) |

There are utility officers that do escorts, give breaks, respond to incidents, etc. Nobody leaves the cell without restraints. At least two officers are present when anyone is pulled out of the cell. ETA; Our count overall is about 3K give or take, and, there are about 55-60 bosses turned out each shift. |
