In all seriousness, Probably best for your records.
Check state/local laws first!

You're selling your privates?

Seriously, what I do is make out two copies a receipt (one for buyer and one for seller).  Have both sign and print DL#.  Then keep it forever.

I don't keep info and neither should you.

We need less of a paper trail with our guns, not more.

I thought the legal age to buy/ own a handgun was 21 in most states.

Oh, and don't sell your privates.

No its 21 under federal law to buy from an FFL.

Most states are 18 for private sales, as well as federal law for possession is generally 18.

Many states allow <21 to buy from an individual (fed law is >21 from a dealer only)

You don't need to retain any receipt, etc. as long as he pays you the full amount in cash before you hand the gun to him.

It's great until ATF calls you up wondering why your gun was found in a crack house three states away.

Yeah, that phone call is lots of fun. Ask me how I know.

"I no longer have that gun."

Who did you sell it to?

"I do not recall."

Fuck the ATF.

Sellers, do a check on the person you're selling to.  Talk to them on the phone.  Find out why they are interested in your gun.  If it doesn't seem right, don't sell.

Didn't hear much more about. Although it was interesting that the agent asked if I still had x gun, y gun and z gun. He listed every gun I had bought from that particular gun store.

And as far as the F the ATF, whatever floats your boat man.
