What or who will be the first sign of outright rebellion against the stupidity coming out of DC? This morning Rush was talking openly about civil disobedience. It seems that I remember congessional offices being vandalized in the past. We`ve had riots in LA. We`ve had arsons in Detroit.
What say the hive? Any predictions? |

Take a page out of the MLK book. |
| You will not know that's just it, it will be the media's #1 goal to keep any news of a rebellion a secret, they will ignore any and all civil disobedience to give the illusion that everything is fine. It will have to be something the media can not cover up or deny. |

Meow. We have become a country of pussies. I just don't see it happening. Some groups of 10,000 or so might form in D.C. a few days a year and shake their fists at the Capital in foaming rage, but that will be it.
roy d....generally the population is glad to have a roof, warm food, an HDTV and to lick the hand that feeds them. |

The first sign is already going on. People avoiding taxes. Granted, it's been going on forever, but people are starting to try alot harder to avoid more and more of it. But I think we'll see an open defiance of the tax law, where as most tax avoiders have historically tried to operate on the down-low and sneak under the radar. I'm thinking about sending a defiant "FUCK YOU" letter in with my tax return this year and openly, flagrantly refusing to pay any new tax associated with health care or tax & trade. There will be consequences associated with doing so, but I"m drawing a line in the sand –– come what may. |

Just don't make enough traceable income to have to pay taxes. Shrug. |
| Every rebellion starts with a small group of "crazies" engaging in petty crime. Most of the time in history these little bands fail and are forgotten, but on rare occasions when it blows up into a successful rebellion the instigators are lionized by history, such as the "Sons of Liberty" or William Wallace. If a rebellion starts, most people will not recognize it until well into the action. |

I suspect the majority of the "pissed off and not gonna take it anymore crowd", the law-abiding, America-loving backbone of this nation, will just keep the wheels turning, doing their part and more to keep this country going. Just like yesterday, today, and tomorrow. |

Yep, that was going to be my answer as well––––tax revolts. IRS has been commanded and bank rolled by obama with more staff to hunt down these tax dollars |

Quoted: Claim as many exemptions on your W4 forms as possible. Enter 1 if... We would need a national movement in order for it to work. A lone tax revolter doing this here and there will only result in wage garnishments the following year after tax day. If health care reform passes, the IRS will have real time access to your bank accounts. Also employers will be required to have employees on Direct Deposit too. So much for getting paid with a check, cashing it, paying bills with money orders, and pocketing rest of the cash. |

Quoted: First sign will be Texas secession. Don't take this wrong. Not knowing of all the current trends in TX, I have to ask: Are Texans up to it? When Houston became the biggest city in the US last week to elect an openly gay mayor, is this a sign that TX has drifted, or is drifting deep into the left lane while ya'll weren't looking? I am very serious. eta: I am reading about her... nothing so far. |

Quoted: That's a good question. I don't live there but have friends that do. They attribute Houston's downfall to Katrina emigrants.Quoted: First sign will be Texas secession. Don't take this wrong. An obvious telltale will be the mass hunkering-down by some of our less patriotic representation.
You won't see many Reids or Pelosis appearing anywhere in public, and Ben Nelson had better dig one deep fucking hole. Barney Frank will be conspicuously absent from the Boston bath house scene, while Chris Dodd will cut back on his whole-head Botox treatments. Joe Biden, however, may still be counted upon to extend Happy Hanukkah greetings to his constituents inside a mosque somewhere in PA. |

Why did they invite them in in the first place? |

I was not aware there were THAT MANY of them. What tens of thousands of them? whoa |

Massive tax revolt should be the first sign. No need to keep paying them to do this to us. They will respond with heavy handed tactics to make examples out of few tax dodgers. Accompanied with the usual propaganda about the evil rich tax dodgers not paying their fair share, etc. Then, go time. |

"Defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic" How do we defend against domestic enemies without resorting to violence? I think the Constitution almost "requires" a violent solution. Or am I incorrect? And it is our right to do so. |

This, BUT it would require something on a State level. For example, if the Fed decides or claims that TX owes extra taxes for, well, whatever and TX says fuck you. Then the fed gets heavy handed against TX and things get tense. So basically, all of TX would have to say fuck you and form a tax revolt. Just a thought. BTW, at least then we can tell the libs to GTFO if they don't like how TX is. |
