| I should say straight. I've always mixed it with coke, in fact all I have ever had is jack and coke before. As a beginner I wanted something easy to drink that I would enjoy. Makers Mark fit the bill. In a whiskey glass with four rocks. Two fingers worth. Was delicious. Now I'm tired. That is all. |

Every hard liquor I've tasted has been nothing but pure rubbing alcohol. Cheap and pricey (not expensive). I recently bought a bottle of Blanton's and it's... ok? But the dominant taste is still rubbing alcohol. Quoted:

Trying to get into whiskey myself. So far I have tried larceny, Woodford reserve, gentleman jack, makers mark and bookers. My fave so far is probably makers, then larceny, then bookers. The bookers is good, but expensive and high proof, so small amounts only. Try W L Weller and try Willit if you can find either on of them. My most favorite is Elmer T lee, but its getting pricey and hard to find. Buffalo Trace is OK too, but not my most favorite. |

It took me 40+ years to learn how to drink whiskey.
Lotta fist fights, lotta regrets, lotta unbelievable hangovers. Couple arrests, many lost loves, a few thousand in court costs. A few years without a drivers license, a few years homeless. So sure!!! Drive it right to ya bud! If ya live thru it then you'll learn how to drink whiskey. Moderation is a wonderful thing. Be safe man... |

I pretty much only drink whiskey straight, or on ice, Welcome to the dark side

CSB: First time I got drunk was 4yrs old(it was the 70's). Mom and Dad took me to a fancy (dark) restaurant and I kept sticking my straw in Moms wine highball(Blue Nun & 7-up) when they weren't looking.
I was sneaky little fucker.
I fell off the chair and they whisked me out of there before the main course. My first whiskey was YUUUGE pulls off of a 1/2 gallon of McMasters, stored in a hot barn, when I was 8. The farmer was hiding it from his wife in the hay barn. ETA: I couldn't chug like that to this day. |
