I love there music, but will never go to another concert again. I went to one in San Diego a few years ago, and during there concert they talked a bunch of libtardness and a bunch of shit on Bush. Your free to have your opinions, but when I PAY to go to a concert, I was to listen to music, and not your political bull shit. |

I went to see them for free earlier this month in Dallas, and I also won't go see them again. I hate it when a band says "xxx city" is their favorite in some manner to get people to cheer, FM did it between just about every song. Every song was dedicated to their other best friend/relative, usually in memory of. One of them was "dedicated" to about 10 different people There was some bush hating towards the beginning even though he's been out of office for a fuckin year. I'm pretty sure the lead singer spent the majority of the concert talking. I don't know about anyone else, but that shit really cheapens a show, I was less than happy at the end of the night.
I wasn't really into them to begin with, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to expand my horizons... for free. |

My friend from back East is into them. Finally planned a vacation out here a year ago timed with their concert. We saw them at the Filmore, December '08. They spewed some "We were in the deepest, darkest parts of (some 3rd world shithole) when we heard Obama won...what a great day for the world...blah blah"
She comes out again for their concert at Red Rocks last September. I had been calling them commies and such the whole time in between. She made sure we were about 10 rows from the BACK This time, his rant was more "You can't trust any of em. We got screwed"
That lead into "You won't make a fool out of me"

I had no idea they were so left leaning. It doesn't come as a suprise being they hail from Ireland and it seems more and more artists are following that trend. Definitely a trend. DKM, with a similiar style, has leftist BS in quite a few of their newer songs. Still, it's decent music. Actually, a lot of the bands/artists I listen to now have very liberal/anti-American/leftist views––-I still love and listen to the music––I just don't BUY their CDs. |

Didn't realize they were such outspoken lefties. Thought about going to see them in Atlanta last weekend, but decided not to. Now I'm kind of glad. I wish performers would get over the notion that I give a shit what their political opinions are. No one else can do that where they work - "Hey guys, I'm here to give a report on our quarterly earnings, but first, I just like to point out what a worthless idiot obama is." I don't think that would work.
All that being said - Salty Dog I do love their music. |

Well, we still have Bocephus.

You guys talking of their politics do realize their main following was/is punk/skinhead kids, right? Man, I had/have no idea who their main audience is. I mistyped 'flag' as 'flog' on the You-Tube search engine and the name of the band popped up, so I clicked it checked them out and really liked the music. Then Stargate Universe put Worst Day Since Yesterday in as a segway song to one of the episodes and I said, Hey! These guys might be something! |
