Did you get sick with the flu shot or without?
Poll inbound

Edit; with shot/ not sick

Edit:
I selected two options since you could. I don't get sick with it or without it. Sometime I get the shot twice per year since I have to have one for my job and instead of tracking down the paperwork I just let them give me another. I have never got sick from getting one even while constantly being around very sick mofos.

Never got the flu shot before this year and have gotten the flu maybe once or twice in my life. Got the shot this year because the job requires it. Even working in the ER around people who bring that shit in daily I've been fine.

I didn't get the shot.  Got the flu.  Day 2 I went to a clinic, got tamiflu and was 85% after a couple days, 100% after a week.  I had no idea it worked so well.

I've never had a flu shot that I recall, and I don't get sick either.

Fuck the Flu shot,   only a 30% effective rate

The flu shot has been using a "dead" virus for about 22 years now. If you're getting sick from the shot, you've got something else going on, or you were already getting the flu.
This from someone who has gotten the flu shot since '91. Used to get sick as a dog, until the new vaccine in '95. Never gotten the flu since.

First time in over a decade that I did not get a flu shot.

First time in over a decade that I have not gotten the flu.

First time in 3 years that I have not come down with pneumonia.

Along time ago (1968) Mom, Dad, and I received flu shots.  All of us were sicker than a dog.   That was the last flu shot I had.  I would get the flu every 3-4 years.  Fast forward to 2011 my wife came down with cancer.  Her Dr. told my wife she was to get the flu shot and oh buy the way you get one too.  I have been getting one ever since, never been sick.   Work was giving flu shots every year. It seemed that there were always some one who had a reaction.  Generally it was a sore arm.  How ever some people did get real sick and missed work from it.  One guy's blood pressure dropped real low.

I've never had a flu shot. I'm OK with letting my immune system doing its job when a flu strain sets up shop in my body every couple of years. To each his own.

Last time I got a flu shot I was 17 years old and got sick as shit... I'm 61 now.

The last time I got one of those flu shots (about 10 years ago) I came down with a mild fever and some light headedness for a few days. Never got another flu shot again. Oh, and the nurse admitted that the flu shots are just a guess on which strain of the flu to protect against and does not protect against any of the other strains.

No shot here and didn't get sick either. Even after my gf's daughter got sick.

The inactive flu shot got me sick, gave me autism, and now I spend my time researching pizzagate because I know it's real and not a false flag to keep me from looking at real DNC corruption.

I got the shot, no sick.
Wife didn't, she was diagnosed today with type A. Go figure.

My company gives us free flu shots but they give them in Oct.  My Dr says that is too early and by chance I am home with the flu now.  ugh

I haven't had a flu shot since I left the military. That was over a decade ago... Still haven't gotten the flu. I don't really see a reason to get one. Why fix it if it ain't broke.

Many people around here are getting Type A even with the shot.

Poll fail. Needs to have a category for Influenza test positive or not. Lots of people say they have the "flu," and often have other viral URI or even viral gastroenteritis.

Did not have a flu shot.

Got sick.  Flu-like symptoms, but not confirmed.
3/6/2017 6:11:24 PM EDT

No shot, never get the Flu.  Typically once a year I'm shut down for about 24 hours feeling shitty.  That's about it.

First year since 1978 that I got the flu.

Only had the shot 3-4 times in that span.

It always makes me sick as hell for about 48 hours after the shot so I gave it up in the 1990's.

I never get the shot.  I've gotten the flu 2 or 3 times in 46 years.  The last time, maybe 4 years ago was absolutely fucking brutal.  I was praying for death.

I got the shot and I didn't get the flu.

The only influenza-like-illness I got was Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) which the flu shot doesn't protect against.

I never get a shot. I'm just getting over the flu. This was the first time in 8yrs I've gotten the flu.

I've never had a flu shot, and have had the flu 2-3 times in my life. I think most people get a cold and or some other BS and blame it on the flu. When you actually get a flu you will know that shit.

This was the first time in years I was unable to evade the mandatory Army flu shot. This was the first time in years I got the flu. I hate the flu shot.

Very true. For the 2016-2017 respiratory season in the US, "flu season" didn't start until January 2017. For most saying they got the flu, if it happened before January then statistically, they're FOS.

The flu shots are only about 60% effective.  I get one every year, but this year, I got the H1N1 (Swine variant) flu.  I felt like a swine.

I haven't had the flu since I stated getting the shot about 11 years ago.  Some of that is probably luck, but still.  For me, it's a no brainer.

Read the insert that comes with the flu vaccine, it can cause side effects that mimic the flu.

The flu shot doesn't keep you from getting sick.

The flu shot keeps the flu from killing you.

99% of the middle aged men who died from the flu last year didn't get a shot.

I get the flu shot every year at work...this year, I got flu like symptoms for 1.5 days after wards.
Rethinking the advantages for next year.
