Hey all I'm flying to NJ, this Sunday and had a question.

I've searched a bit here and on tsa.org and see what I can and can't  bring for the most part but had a specific question.

I carry a badge (no, not ccw) in my wallet and was wondering if I could get that through security because of the Pin part on the back of the badge that secures it to a shirt or the holder in the wallet for that matter.  Will this be an issue?

This wil be a non-issue if you just put it in the plastic container and let it go through the x-ray.  If you opt not to, it may alert in the metal detector gateway and they will wand you to find out what it is....it might alert and then it might not.....

Yeah, I planned on putting it in the plastic tray and running it through the xray since I will be emptying out my pockets anyway and it's my wallet like I said, but I was just concerned the pointy object part of the issue.

Probably an issue with the TSA.  That pin, while it might look like nothing, could gouge someone's eye out.  They made me turn over FINGERNAIL CLIPPERS I had in my pocket.  Morons ....

Any other opinions or facts from those who have been through this?

Alright, I posted this in the BotS forum and got a lot of good answers so I should be good to go there.

Next up,

Flashlights and batteries?

When I type that out and read it, it seems like a dumb question but that shouldn't be an issue for carry on right, just have to turn them on so they can see they work or something like that right?

Sorry all, I fly about once every 5 years.

Nevermind, answered my own question:
