There are shows which are very good, and some
are totally beat me down.

 To me,

Good shows:  Oliver Twist, Emeril, Bobby
              Flay, Food 911,  A Cook's tour.

 Beat-me-down-shows:  Iron Chef, Martha
                      Steward.

The damn show is fixed.  All the judges are Japanese (nothing against Asian, because I'm one),so naturally Iron Chefs win 9 out of ten.

Initially, it was OK.  Now it just beats me down.[:D]

Food Channel is addictive, that iron chef show sucks you in and you cant escape!

The Iron Chef is comedy at its finest. The judging at the end with the supurb voiceover interpretation is excellent humor.

Besides, any show that uses squid ink to flavor ice cream can't be all that bad.

I have to take issue with three of your choices:
1) Iron Chef.  I'm a junkie.  I LOVE the show.
2) Bobby Flay.  He's a cocky, condecending prick.  He may be able to cook, but he seems like the kind of person you just want to smack in the mouth.
3) Oliver's Twist.  Is it just me, or is this guy's tongue about 3 times too big for his mouth?

Iron Chef sucks!!  So does Martha!

I like Food 911 & Cook's Tour
Bobby Flay is ok

That Brit guy Oliver is kind of gay!

I also like the other female chef,  Sarah ??

Iron Chef kicks butt. Pay attention to their knife use and the types of blades they use. Lots of Damascus. Cool stuff.

mmmmm...Rachael Ray....me likey

30 minute meals and $40 A Day are obviously my favourites, but I like Emeril, especially his casual show without the audience, Good Eats is always helpful and I like the Naked Chef guy. I would not be caught dead watching Iron Chef. A girl I dated made me watch that all the damn time and I fucking hated it. No wonder she bugs the shit out of me.

Eventhough, I don't like some of the shows, Food Channel is great because of there are many things that one can learn.
If one show I can do without, it's Martha Steward.  Thanks guys.

What do you need to know about cooking, having your mother in law?  I have dreams about those spring rolls!

The only thing that bugs me about Iron Chef is sometimes they do the "Today they are cooking salmon/sushi tacos in the Italian fashion" with some French guy cooking it.
Ummm...Okay??

Rachael Ray is as cute as can be and has one of the sexiest laughs I have ever heard....

I used to be addicted to Iron Chef until they advertised "New Episodes" and they were all from 1996!

Good Eats is ok..But once in a while they get WAY too scientific...They stretch the recipies out to something you wouldn't even try to imitate. They make meatloaf by grinding their own meat at a certain temperature on a day of a full moon after picking garlic so the meat has just a hint of garlic from your hands and then they add 30 more ingredients! All this for a FRIGGIN MEATLOAF!

Bobby Gay is just that! Can't stand him. Now, I did like Jackie Malouf (his sidekick on Hot Off The Grill)..She was kind of sexy and had GREAT legs!

Emeril thinks he's funny! He's STUPID! And I love Emeril LIVE when it was filmed 2 years ago! Every episode is a repeat. Yeah, BAM THIS Emeril!

Naked Chef is ok..He sure does have a lot of "mates" though..But you know those British..

Cooks Tour is awesome! Down to earth guy..Cusses, drinks excessively and smokes! Now THAT'S a cooking show...

Ming Tsai is arrogant and conceited! Spoiled little rich kid..Ever notice in his opening pictures, he's alone in almost every shot? He has no friends!

Molto Mario was ok when he was traveling through Italy with Rudy..But alone he's boring.

Wolfgang Puck, Martha Stewart, Keith Famie, Two Fat Ladies, and the cooks on The Melting Pot can be cancelled for all I care... They won't cancel Emeril though...He's their bread and butter (no pun intended)

I say we need to bring back Justin Wilson, The Frugal Gourmet (after he does his prison term for touching little boys), Graham Kerr and Martin Yan...Those were/are my favorites..

The Galloping Gourmet (classic episodes, with butter and fat and beef) are on at like 3:30 in the morning.  Did you know Graham Kerr is now a health nut?  Apparently his wife had a heart attack and he got all "health conscious".  Bah.

Good Eats is the cats ass.

Emeril seems to have has turned into a parody of himself.

I'd say more, but nobody's gonna read down this far anyway.

I love Good Eats.  They actually did a parody of Iron Chef and Junkyard Wars (aka Scrapheap Challenge) in one episode.  It was called "Scrap Iron Chef" or something like that.  Really funny stuff, especially the overdubbed 'judging session' at the end.

For the show, Alton Brown actually built a really amazing and elaborate cold smoker out of junk.

Good eats is great.  It is one of the best teaching shows out there.  And yes grinding your own beef is the way to go.  IT is cheaper and you get better quality meat (texture, taste, all the good stuff) by doing it that way.  It is also a great shot to tell you a brief history of the food item in question, and they to describe its development. (btw, the 'cardboard box' salmon smoker was great)
Sure everyonce in a while he can get a bit complicated, but heck that is the fun part, pushing your limits.

I almost forgot...

Did anyone here catch the Cook's Tour episode on Cambodia, "Wild Delicacies"?  Tony Bourdain went to a resturant with a shooting range on site.  After lunch he blasted away with an AK and a Makarov (He called it a PPK).

Martin Yan cracks me up.

I miss Justin Wilson terribly.

Martha Stewart should be interned in a WWII Japanese POW camp, and forced to watch re-runs of The A-Team while squatting above broken glass, and only given bug-ridden rice and 4-day old fish to eat.

I watch a lot of food channel. My favorites are Iron Chef and Good Eats. I agree that Bobby Flay seems like a conceited jackass.

But my biggest beef is that i really can't stand the Emeril Live show. I mean for gods sake, can't he come up with some new lines: (" I don't know where you get your (blank), but where I get mine it don't come seasoned.")
And the audience really annoys the hell out of me every time they start clapping and cheering when he adds garlic or anything alcoholic. The big problem is that Emeril goes to fast and tries to cover way too much, which means that I can never really understand what the hell is going on. He just says to do this, then that, wait 2 hours and he pulls some finished dish out that looks perfect when he probably never cooked it to begin with. Rant mode off.

Don't forget about how he puts powdered sugar and a sprig of mint on EVERY SINGLE DESSERT HE MAKES!  And I just don't think he's the brightest bulb in the box.

I probably like Emeril more than some of the others, but if I hear him say, "Let's kick it up a notch" one more time, I'm going to chow. Jesus H. Christ man, you put two extra tablespoons of curry powder in your soup, you aren't playing a guitar solo in front of an audience of 20,000! Curry is anticlimactic.

No one gets on my nerves more (on the Food Channel) than Emeril. He has become quite the buffoon. He cannot talk and think at the same time, leaving you to attempt to finish his  sentences for him. He leaves out many ingredients in common, everyday recipes which makes me wonder about the integrity of the recipes which are new to me. This guy may be a great chef (and an astute businessman) but he has no business hosting a cooking show, IMHO.

I used to watch Iron Chef on an international channel before it got to Food Network.  I liked it a lot better before they dubbed it in English.  I don't speak Japanese (took it in high school and don't remeber a word), but for some reason I used to enjoy just watching the show.  Now the dubbed dialogue is just lame.

good eats is where its at.  Tell you HOW things are cooked/made rather than just throwing crap together and showing a finished dish.  Whe Alton get scientifc, he shows the inner workings of cooking, and when you know these thigs-usually simple rules, you can become a better cook.  Something mosts shows dont do.  I think the best good eats episode was the Garilc one with Dracula.  its funny how Dracula just stood there until he was invited into altons house...following good vampire rules.

Good Eats Rules!! Never miss an episode.

Also try to catch Olivers Twist and 30 Minute Meals whenever possible.

Too bad they canceled "How to Boil Water". Sean Donnelan what a riot!

Her ass is too big for her body, she looks like a pear.

She's fairly attractive , can cook, has a decent personality, decent job, and is still single?

Iron chef rules but how fruity is the chairman guy.

Bobby Flay is a cocky ass, I think he personifies america well lol. Hes also a kick ass chef.

Emeril is alright I went to the same college he did, Johnson and Wales University. All his teachers said he was a hack lol.

The BEST show on Food is Two Fat Ladies. Two bad one of them died.

What about "Extreme Cuisine" and "unwrapped".  (other than that loser hoston Unwrapped)  They could cut his B.S. out of the show completely and not lose an ounce of content.  IMHO.

I agree, looking at Rachael Ray she looks pretty hot, until she came out from around the counter. Her rear end could use a little liposuction but what the heck I've seen and done worse. That Jackie Malouf needs an extra long salami or maybe Rachael and Jackie in a meatball sandwich, yea baby! Emeril is too canned, he's lost some of his appeal for me and yes I still watch the "Iron Chef!" @*&$@^% I'm really on the edge of my seat during the count down, my kids hate it. (I wonder where that dude hosting the show got the cape he wears)

I like beautiful women with big butts...There is a distinct difference between a woman with a big ass and a big ass woman...J Lo has a big ass but is not a big ass woman..Rachael has a big ass, but is not a big ass woman... Rachael has a KILLER smile too!

And living on $40/day for food..That's $280/week or $1140/month..No wonder she has a big ass...
