I had a Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 sports lens, but could never really warm up to it. Wish I had not sold it a few years ago, but that's water under the bridge now. Wanting a stabilized 300mm f/2.8. Have a Tokina 300 f/2.8, but it has no stabilaztion. Anyway, is this the lens I want, this older Nikon? Thank you.

By all accounts it’s a solid lens. When was it manufactured? Nikon has changed the specs of that lens over the years. |

It’ll focus a bit faster than some of the older versions. Glass is definitely buy once cry once, and you get what you pay for. My 200-500 was about the same price and it’s fantastic. |
