OP was right, and lucky. Good for him. Now show your decision-making process at the start of the next crisis.

I took the vaccine at age 60 under no particular duress because I thought it was reasonable to do so. I got one booster on schedule and had some knee swelling six weeks later so I didn't intend to get the second booster. Then I got the second booster to make an international trip for my daughter's wedding. No side effects, no repeat effusion in the knee. So was the first effusion due to the shot or just something that happened coincidentally? I have had effusions before COVID, so I gave no way to know.

I later (2023) got  COVID which was the worst sore throat in my life and required prednisone to get over.  Did the vaccine do me any good? Doubt it, since the omicron strain was the prevalent one at the time and nobody was dying from it, then.

If there were an Ebola pandemic would OP not get a vaccine for it because of the COVID debacle?

Please state in advance for the record.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hindsight is 20/20. I didn't advocate for it then, sure don't now, but with two elderly parents in the hospital at the same time for large surgeries, I needed to be able to see them and check on them. And the hospitals were gatekeeping.

So feel good if you need to that some people took the jab. I'm not happy about it, nor proud, but the neeners don't need to be there.

Solid post and I think you’re right.

The only reasons I didn’t take it were:

1. I hate needles, I have since gotten over it thanks to my experimentation with peptides and testosterone

2. I’ve never gotten the flu shot and can’t remember ever getting the flu

3. I don’t like the government telling me what to do. The more the powers that be push me to get or do something the more I don’t want to.

4. I own my business and my livelihood was never threatened by taking it or not.

I did say during Covid that if something ever came up that I wanted to do bad enough and couldn’t without the shot I’d probably look into faking it or finally get one.

My choice to not get it though doesn’t really make me more informed or better than anyone that did. Really I don’t care what people do, just don’t force me to do it

In 2019, I was laughing at people getting measles in California because they refused the vax.

In 2020, I was told that I had to vax with a vaccine that was approved faster than the human gestational period.

There's a huge difference between the two.

MRNA technology was explored as a technology to rapidly produce countermeasures to biological warfare. It was in some war planning.

Testing of the technology however showed it to be ineffective and potentially very dangerous. It had not progressed beyond animal testing because of the failures.

Covid  comes along, oh no it's an emergency, let's roll out this technology to the entire planet. Everyone from Fauci on down straight out lied to the planet. Anyone who was even remotely technically involved or willing to read up on it knew this but was silenced by the government/tech synergy.

MRNA isn't a "vaccine", it's gene therapy that was believed to have vaccine-like effects that didn't really work in the early testing. It's massively harmed the whole conversation about vaccines in general (which have their own issues) by confusing it with an entirely different technology that they called a vaccine.

Remdesivir was pretty much the same. It was an experimental treatment for Ebola, that didn't even get to a real clinical trial due to the fatality rate of the initial testing.

Covid comes along, out of nowhere Fauci and the CDC starts promoting Remdesivir as a treatment? Huh? It was literally a death sentence for hundreds of thousands of Americans. It had zero efficacy against Covid and a fatality rate approaching 50%, yet this was the ONLY approved treatment.

Both of these were experimental pharmaceuticals with known serious, even fatal effects from previous testing yet both pushed into massive use with an unbelievable propaganda campaign.

Much of the early response to covid was just brainless government apparatchiks scrambling for random disaster plans or previous war games and just doing stuff that sounded good. Respirators as another example, government at all levels went crazy for respirators because "pandemic" planning based on the Spanish Flu assumed they would be needed. Bureaucrats were telling doctors how to treat a disease, not based on any clinical evidence or analysis of the disease, but based on the assumptions of plans and war games for "respiratory illness".

In short, the MRNA covid shots are a combination of "we have to do something", "maybe this will work", "if it goes bad we'll blame it on the illness", "there will be a ton of money", and "Fauci wants a Nobel prize". Add on top of that a blizzard of obfuscation so that nobody would see that Fauci and his minions actually created covid.

Even without the MRNA technology, if they'd have made a traditional kind of vaccine, it wouldn't have worked either. The mutation rate of the virus was too high and any vaccine would be ineffective at best, or drive mutations at worse.

The government did virtually everything wrong, in some cases 180 degrees wrong. Anyone that said anything about it got destroyed.

it's easy to make decisions when all the information is in.  the challenge is to make decisions knowing that you have imperfect info.  and only a fool believes himself to be in complete command of the necessary info.

i got vaccinated because i did a risk/reward analysis and concluded that, given my medical history, the danger of the vax was probably less than the danger of 2020 covid.  I've had covid 3 times since then, and haven't bothered with boosting.  if i had it all to do again, i probably wouldn't have vaxxed, but you can't un-ring a bell.

judge as you will.

My son got not only the shot, but also every booster (work requirement) and has had Covid at least 6 times since.

Wife and I both refused. She was pregnant and we wanted another baby. Fertility issues and questions about fetal impact were up in the air. Plus, having the government mandate I put something in my body is absolutely enough for me to tell them to fuck off.

We were admittedly fortunate that both of our employers told mandates to pound sand
