Okay for post 556, I'll give you guys a positive story about me a police officer and a dog.
One night I got a call at a residence about a barking dog. I responded and could hear a dog under this lady's house. I could also hear water splashing about. I shined my flashlight under the house and saw a ledge built out of bricks and mortar. The dog was crying for help bad. This was not the home owner's dog and no one knew what the dog looked like or anything. The only thing I knew was the it sounded like it was drowning. I got on my belly and low crawled to the ledge about 15 feet under the house. I could hear the dog trying to claw it's way out of what appeared to be an old well under the house. Once I got up to the ledge I tried to look over the ledge and I could see glimpses of a dark colored dog as it tried to jump up out of the water. I reached over the ledge and put my arm down as far as I could and grabbed some part of the dog, the neck I think it was and slowly pulled it out from the well. It was a medium sized lab I pulled out. Once it got on it's feet it gave me this look like normally it would have bitten me, but in this instance it wasn't as it gave me a slight growl and it slowly walked away from me. The lady had to get the well sealed up. I had to go home and change as I was pretty dirty. |
