anyone who had read my posts knows what a huge ford fan i am. the interceptor concept was leaked a while back, but here is the official press release media.ford.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=25108&make_id=trust Lincoln LS/Jag S-Type/Thunderbird/Mustang platform. 400 hp 5.0 cammer v8, although in reality i'm expecting it to come with the 5.4, i think they'll save the cammer for the mustang exclusively. what do you guys think? |
| That is quite possibly the ugliest vehicle I've seen in a long time. I am glad to see they're boosting the horsepower on these. Of course, that doesn't mean much if it's an overweight blob. The only big question, where are they going to mount the push bumper? MJD |
+1 Cars should not look like smashed revolver bullets with seats... And there is something wrong when you have enough front grille to use it as a snow-plow if you lower the car enough.... Of course, with those huge shiny rims, and all that flashy bullshit they will sell plenty... Factory ghettomobile.... |

It's a CONCEPT car. The 5.0 Cammer is a FRPP crate motor that is available NOW. The production car based on the Interceptor, if made, would most likely be based on the Orion-chassis Ford Falcon that will be LH-drive. If it goes into production here in the states by 2009/2010, it may get a 5.8L Hurricane V8. |
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Modular_engine Scroll down to 5.0 Cammer. Not to fond of the roof line & grill but otherwise it looks damn good. |
Here's a direct link: FRPP 5.0 Cammer Homepage Go here to buy it: Summit Racing Cammer link |
| yeah, the 5.0 cammer is going to make it to hte mustang for sure, but i think this bad boy will more likely than not get a hurricane engine. probably a 6.2L. if not, i'm expecting an aluminum 5.4. the cammer is a little too rev happy for something that weighs this much. |
indeed. |
It's Ford's new styling, Just look at the Fusion. I think eventually all Ford's will have A simmilar grille, Like how all Pontiac's have the split grille. |
Are they still talking about a little turbodiesel with spray, for the Bronco? I remember reading that a couple years ago. |
I'm a bronco fan from way back, but PLEASE tell me they aren't putting 4 wheel IS on that thing. ![]() if so, it's nothing more than an escape with a winch. BTW, the car's front fascia does look like Robocop's helmet. |
But the difference is that the Bronco looks good! |
automotive twins seperated at birth? |
Hey, Ford's going to build a Honda Element! |
I think he was referring to the CHEVY billet grill. |
I agree. But I'll still bet it's plastic. As to billet's meaning as it's being grossly and inaccurately used, from wikipedia... "Billet is a term used in manufacturing to refer to a cast product. A cast product is defined as either as ingot or a billet, depending on whether the cross-sectional diameter is greater than, or less than approximately 200 mm, respectively. A billet is typically cast to a geometry compatible with secondary processing, e.g. forging. An ingot is typically cast to a convenient geometry for further primary processing, e.g. heat treatment (Schey, 1999). Ingots and billets are collectively known as barstock." |
So, do they all come with optional 'spinnas', 2000W stereos, and a bonus 'Rap's Greatest Hits' CD from the dealer? |
