| Have any of you guys ever visited the Fort Stevens site in Oregon? Pretty neat place, although the guns are long gone. It was shelled by a Japanese submarine, with no damage, in 1942, I believe. The fort was built in 1864 to defend the US from Canada, during the Civil War, in case they joined the Confederate cause, as was feared for a time. John |
