Man, these fuckers are really after me! www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=231998&w=myTopicPop Be careful folks! Here's the text of what they sent me. The original page with graphics looks EXACTLYlike a real eBay page.

"Phishing attacks involve the mass distribution of 'spoofed' e-mail messages with return addresses, links, and branding which appear to come from banks, insurance agencies, retailers or credit card companies. These fraudulent messages are designed to fool the recipients into divulging personal authentication data such as account usernames and passwords, credit card numbers, social security numbers, etc. Because these emails look “official”, up to 5% of recipients may respond to them, resulting in financial losses, identity theft, and other fraudulent activity." I've heard from several other folks with AOL accounts will get "You've got Pictures" e-mails that purport to be from AOL, that direct you to an AOL-looking site where you're supposed to log on to check them out. But it isn't an AOL site, it just harvests your account name and password. Just a word to others to keep an eye out for it.... |

Quoted: medicmandan, Glad yours looked fake - mine was very real looking. So was mine, I clicked on "properties". I just found out yesterday, my zone alarm has a place for your e-bay password. Apparently they made a deal with e-bay, to protect us.... It CANNOT be used from a different computer. (I think.... [:D] ) |

| I got the same exact email. Mine also looked very real. Luckly I stopped filling it out when it asked for my social security number. I thought that sounded fishy, so I just deleted the email. I didn't think anything about it again, until I read this post. Thank god, I just deleted it. |
