Can anyone tell me how this works?

I hear commercials on the radio all day about getting a free lap top from freelaptop.com.

What is the catch?

Who cares.  There's ALWAYS a catch.

Usually on things like that what you have to do it get people to sign up for a whole bunch of trial offers like blockbuster or credit card applications etc...  After a certain amount you get a free item.  I have seen it from ipods to tvs to laptops.

Dang I was so ready to lock a thread and an account ... thought this was a spam-bot posting.

I did something like this a couple years ago.  You usually have 3-4 categories, and in each category, you have to sign up for 1 of 3 things, be it a credit card, vitamins, netflix, etc.  It worked, but it was a pita.  You have to be VERY CAREFUL about the stuff you sign up for.  There's some nasty fine print in the terms and conditions.

I did get a free laptop though.

Looking for a laptop for my daughter.

Guess I'll just buy one.

Sounded good, but I knew there had to be a catch.
