Any opinion?  Time for me to upgrade my NAS and am curious to others experiences.  I've used FreeNAS for the past 4 years, haven't bothered to keep up with any pros/cons of the two.

Also curious if anyone here has ever had complete loss of data due to non-ecc memory failure?

The basic story is, when FreeNAS went commercial, there was a schism in the development team, those opposed to commercialization forked into the NAS4Free project, and the remaining FreeNAS team continued forward.  There was a while were the codebase fro FreeNAS was total shit, and buggy as fuck.  But word on the street is they've gotten a bunch more talent on the team and sorted everything out, and both a very viable storage OS's now.
