Has anyone had any experience w/ a free OS that works good. Have a older computer that is for my son, 6yrs old, mainly for his learning games and educational use. Need one that is user friendly and will allow internet access. Have a 30 day trial of Vista on there now but don't want to pay for something he really won't be using alot.  Thanks.

Qimo Linux is one that pops up right away.

Edubuntu is another fairly well known one.  Both are based on Ubuntu Linux.

Edubuntu is good, I am using just Ubuntu for my girls and even the 5yr old likes it.

My personal preference is Fedora (which is what's installed on this laptop I'm using to surf Arfcom), but you really can't go wrong with openSUSE, Ubuntu, etc.

take a look here and find something you like:  Distro-Watch (lists the most popular linux distributions people are downloading and using for home, work, play, etc)

Hit up Google or the discussion/support forums if you have questions or trouble with anything.  Good luck.
