Actually, the son of a friend.
He is starting classes in a week, and needs a thousand rounds of brass/brass 9x19 ammunition for the school.
He has already spent a bunch on equipment, and needs the best deal.  No junk ammo, obviously; it's going to be shot on the range in class.

Anyone able to help this young man out?  Who has the deal on high quality stuff?

The Swiss would be my preference, but anything good is solicited.

Glock 17 if that matter.

Yes, he has to buy his own ammo for class.
This is not a full-blown "Academy" experience; it is a 6 month POST class.

It's part-time, not all day.

Walmart.  Still the best price going.  I've shot thousands of rounds of the cheap federal without issues. Aim surplus also has some good deals right now on 9mm.

I still you could beat any of those on gunbroker

Forget the ammo, tell him to take in 12 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts and he will get his certificate on the first day.

This would be my suggestion, unless he wants to get some of the super-cheap import stuff from AIM or Palmetto.

Either is plenty good for the academy and a G17. We all used remanufactured stuff during the academy.

Yeah, I would buy the Swiss.  Not much other ammo at that price with brass case.  It's cheaper than S&B and is reloadable:

we had to back in '95 if you used your own gun. Agencies have to provide it for their recruits going through too. Only ones that did not have to provide ammo where the ones that used the academy guns.
