Where do you buy Frontline for dogs? I've always bought it from Amazon, but now it seems that only third parties have it for sale. Any reliable sources out there? |

Quoted: Agreed. The fleas and ticks in most regions are now resistant to the fipronil (main ingredient in Frontline and the generics), so it's pretty much lost all effectiveness. Happened here and I was pretty surprised given how fipronil works. I worked for a vet and we did some of the earliest trials. They had one in a spray bottle that was the best thing every if you were and outdoorsy person.

I pick mine up from Australia, apparently it’s unsafe to own an assault rifle but chemicals and drugs can be found at the local Mickey Mart.
I've found that the varieties of repellents sold over the counter locally just don’t have the same effectiveness as the stuff you get from the vet. You can order from Australia and get the "good stuff" pretty cheap and without a visit to the vet. The labeling is all in metric so you’ll just have to know how many Kilograms your dog/cat is. |

fipronil is still killing the ticks quite dead here, at least for now. |

I don't use anything on my dogs anymore.
I gave my hound something for fleas one day, a popular brand, but I forget which. I did everything the instructions said to the letter, he got a fever, then started to shake and got lethargic. I put him in the shower and washed all that shit off with dawn dish soap, he was back to normal in a few hours but I think it was a close call. A customer a few months ago told me his dog went into a seizure after applying some stuff, almost killed it. I just keep the lawn mowed and groom them nightly now. If we go out hunting they get brushed as soon as we get back to check for fleas and ticks. I also use regular old bug spray like Deep Woods Off when needed. |
