WHERE DO THINK THEY WILL GO? TO  $8.00 A GALLON ?
4/28/2008 7:46:03 AM EDT
[#1]
They will continue going up as long as demand outstrips supply.

ETA: and the dollar sinks

My guess is that gas prices will roughly double every 4 years from now on.

$7.00 by 2012
$14.00 by 2016

etc.

The price of gold will more or less keep pace.

$100.00 per barrel oil = (more or less) $900.00 to $1,000.00 per oz.

$200.00 per barrel oil = (  "     "    " ) $1,800.00 to $2,000.00 per oz.

My big worry is when gas goes above $10.00/gal.

The gas stations will all have to get new signs to handle the added digit.

Gas theft down here involves punching a hole in the bottom of the gas tank.  Much quicker.

... That's my guess as well. Try to always budget twice the price you are currently paying at the pump for gas. Do the same for commodities that are dependent on fuel such as food. It will help you forecast & plan your future better

DEMAND IS NOT OUTSTRIPPING SUPPLY!!! All the news channels have had analysts speaking on this for two days all say the same thing. THE SPECULATORS are responsible for $60 to $70 bucks of the price of a barrel of crude NOT DEMAND.

DingDingDing we have a winner if you notice all the governments are saying that they have enough supply to last.  But the speculators are using everything to their advantage to jack the price of a barrel of oil.  Take example the nigeria pipe line attack, or katrina, or chavez.  They are using all that to jack the price up but we are the suckers for it.  Their is no reason for it when they are now finding some of the largest deposits on us soil.  HHHmmm wheres that oil going to go over seas where they are making more money because of the speculators.

Yeah they have plenty of oil and keep wanting to jack up the prices cause they know we need it. It is getting expensive to have a car these days.

I just read on another post that the U.S. has a surplus of gasoline. It's the damned speculators on Wall Street that have done this.

EXACTLY- Supply and demand is taking a real unrealistic look at this market. I do a lot of driving and the highways are empty compared to three months ago. Gas stations are telling me business is really bad and if gas hits 4 bucks they are out of business. Lets get the blame where it belongs.

Hmm?  Article on $10/gal. gas

There is no way people can financially survive if that happens.  It will eliminate the middle class and create the haves and the have-nots.

Can you say "civil unrest?"  (I won't say the "R" word.)
