Amounts vary from $1.00 to $40.00.  Sometimes 8 or 10 in one day.

Only one single donation of $500 was larger than $100.

The contributions also sharply increased in frequency around late June.

I wonder if any of the similar accounts has a matching gap in April '24?

Chart seems to be weirdly consistent even when taking out that gap - if the withdrawals had lagged, you figure there would be a jump or something.

Village of 900 in a poor corner of WI, 301 entries for 2023/2024, and 182 are from two people, multiple smaller donations on single days.

Pretty good for an unemployed guy.

If i were a betting man, those type large serial donations are funnelled monies. The original donor, as O'Keefe found in many instances, was not even aware "he had" made that many donations.

I'd also wager these gobs of money started life as foreign aid born from the US treasury. In that probable scenario, The Big Guy's handlers call the midget puppet in Ukraine and tells him he's got another $240 million for his "war" (wink, wink), but he needs to follow instruction on how to reroute a large chunk to avenues back to Act Blue like the last times. That way, Biden's handlers can indirectly fund their side with our own money.

If I'm correct in my thinking here, political donations are tax exempt. If so, this is actually rather brilliant.

Retired pensioner, Gerdie Bluehair,  pings "their" radar with a one time donation to Act Blue. Say $25.  In the following months, a check on this shows Gerdie has made 3505 other small donations for a grand total of $87,075. She is oblivious "someone" has highjacked her donation stream with an additional $87,050.

She goes to HR Block to do her taxes and lists her original $25 donation. Block's employee includes it, but does not actually verify. If Gerdie knew someone had funnelled over $87k  , twice her fixed income, under her name, she'd trip some kind of alarm with the IRS and state if she was aware.

Neat! Thanks OP.

I downloaded the data for my zip code and "ACTBLUE" into an Excel spreadsheet (CSV) file, and then sorted it by contributor's name. I switched to sort by dollars amount (highest to lowest).

Kind of interesting---but no big surprises.

I suspect that many of the small, weird dollar donations are a result of web site purchases that get the buyer to round-up their purchase to the next dollar and donate it to a "worthy cause".

House panel demands ActBlue disclose verification practices in probe into possible foreign money

House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil says he fears Iran, China, Russia and Venezuela may be exploiting weaknesses to inject foreign funds into the 2024 election.

The House committee that oversees election integrity demanded Monday  the massive online Democrat fund-raising platform ActBlue disclose to Congress how it verifies the identity of donors before accepting money, saying it fears Iran, China, Russia and Venezuela may be exploiting weaknesses to inject foreign funds into the 2024 election.

“Our investigation has indicated that these actors may be exploiting existing U.S. donors by making straw donations without the individuals’ or your platform’s knowledge,” House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil wrote in a letter to ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones that warned his committee would soon issue subpoenas.

Steil said he was concerned about the fund-raising platform’s security practices after ActBlue disclosed to his committee last year that it does not require from donors on all transactions the credit card verification value (“CVV”) associated with the credit or debit card used by the contributor, a key protection against identity fraud and money laundering.

I postal mailed checks to the CAO and Van Meter campaigns here and also just made donations through WinRed.    This will give me something to track to see the accounting.
