OK GD APPLIANCE WIZARDS...
GE MONOGRAM 6 burner gas cook top with grill...4 burners on the left, grill and 2 more burners on the right...lets call them left to right front to back burners far left bank 1 and 2, middle set is 3 and 4 then the grill and burners 5 and 6 on the far right... 
Burners 3/4/5/6 run correctly turn on gas to light in EX HIGH position, ignitors start clicking, gas starts flowing and it lights, ignitors stop within a 1/2 second or so of lighting...works like a champ, same way its always done since new... Recently burners 1 and 2 have started acting up...turn on gas to light position, ignitors start clicking and visibly sparking/firing...gas flows...however the burners will not light...period. I have cleaned them, checked and double checked them... you can light it with a match, valve functions perfectly from EX HIGH to SIMMER but the ignitors continue to fire non stop even when manually lit. IDEAS? |

GE are the worst. Our house has matching stainless GE Profile shit in the kitchen. The only thing that doesn't completely suck is the stove, except that regular kitchen cleaners take the control panel lettering right off.
I had to replace the magnetron in the microwave just so I could keep it as a matching unit. Fortunately I had a cheap microwave with a compatible magnetron, but.. What the hell? I've never had a microwave magnetron fail. |
