Saw it again for the first time in a couple of years. Forgot how good of a movie it was:

Good casting
Good cinematography
Very good sub-plots...and plenty of them
Very good action/battle sequences
Good scriptwriting
Connie Nielson

Also, the murder scene between the Caesar and his son was perhaps the most difficult cinematic killing I've ever witnessed. That's saying something, given the complete lack of gore, or overt filming of the act. Heck, we don't even see most of it, we just are allowed to hear it. Horrible, just horrible.

A solid four stars (out of five) from me.
