GoToGun CHALLENGE
Here it is, folks. See what you can do!! Rules: Shooting: 10 shots 20 seconds {starting at the first shot if you have a shot timer} 100 yards Shooting Positions: NO PRONE NO BENCH NO STICKS NO MECHANICAL REST OF ANY KIND ALLOWED {NO RESTING ON BIPOD, WALL, RUCKSACK, COUCH...} Sitting on ground, sitting on chair, standing, kneeling, sling, squatting, all acceptable. Begin shooting at your position. For example, if you are going to shoot from standing, start from standing. Target: 8 1/2 x 11 copy paper {no holes in it except the Challenge shots} 3-inch diameter solid round bull {any single, solid, color, no boundaries in bull, no scoring rings} Keep the backer as clear as possible. Only shots on 8 1/2 x 11 paper count. Be honest. Pictures Required: Rifle Target with holes and nothing else on it. Target with holes and ruler measuring the 3" bull Scoring: Each shot that strikes the 8 1/2 x 11 paper = 10 points Each shot that strikes the 3" bull = 10 additional points {shots cutting edge from the outside are counted} Possible = 200 All entries must be posted in the following format so I can copy/paste them into the division listing: SCREEN NAME/Month-Day-Year/Rifle/Nominal barrel length/Caliber/Sights{if glass, specify magnified or non-magnified/Modifications/Ammo/Shooting Position/Score Divisions: 1) Iron Sights 2) Magnified Optic 3) Non-Magnified Optic Scroll down to post made 11/30/2019 9:36:42 PM PST for first entry. By the way, all rifles allowed here. This isn't limited to AR's. If you have a M1A, FNFAL, BM59, AR10, AK, etc, etc, etc have at it. I plan to post up a few more rifles of mine in the next few weeks. I'm really curious about what I can do with my HD guns, and by that I mean, nervous... 
I shot several groups. The first one I shot overtime so it was a DQ. The one I posted I shot in 15 seconds. I shot another worse in about the same time and I shot another in 13 seconds that was an awesome group but......................too many outside the bull!

We'll get this Challenge going and if somebody else has a question or concern about rules, just post it. I started the SHTF Challenge and it was a blast. I learned a lot about shooting/shooters. I THINK I know what this one will expose, but we'll see. |

I did use a shot timer. I sat in position, hit the go button, dropped it and waited for the buzz. This was my second attempt, first go around the timer went off as I was squeezing the trigger for shot 9. A 3inch target should be easy to hit 10 times right? 2seconds per shot unsupported goes quick. I'm going to try my HD rifle with an Aimpoint tomorrow offhand. FYI: The timer goes off randomly after pressing the go button which starts the time and again at 20seconds. So time starts before the first shot even when using a timer. Yes, you can use a timer and start from the first shot. The prone ban comes from the fact that it is a supported position. Object here is to remove all props and supports. The chair allowance might seem weird but it comes from the old 3 MOA Challenge where it was allowed because some ranges require shooting from a bench. In other words, you can't shoot unless you are sitting down on the chair. So it's allowed as long as the bench itself isn't used. |
