My transfer GPA is a 4.0, and I'm currently taking my first classes. Will the transfer GPA get calculated in, or is it just there since I don't have anything(what I'm guessing)?

Could wait and ask someone, but Im arfcommer and need to know RFN

EDIT- I transfered and they gave me a 4.0, and Im wanting to know if it will get calculated in with my first classes or if its just there for cosmetic reasons.

GPAs are not transferable, only the units

usually transfer GPA is not factored into your institution GPA.

This depends on the institution.  Some transfer the grades and the credits.  Some just take the credit.  Some institutions will base the decision on where the transfer credit work was completed.

Schools are all over the place on this.  It all depends on your current institution.  If it was juco courses and you're heading to the big leagues, don't expect a positive answer.  Don't be surprised if they don't take all the credits.

So they just put a 4.0 instead of a 0 so it looks better?!

My transfer GPA was calculated in with my institution GPA, but it doesn't count for as much overall.

i graduated from a state school in TX, and my transfer GPA was not included in my final GPA.  it was, however, included when honors were calculated.  at any other state school in TX, i would have graduated magna.  but due to UNT policy, i graduated with nothing.

Ya, that's what I did, I was told my Prior GPA doesn't matter. But my current is a 4.0, so wasn't sure if that technically counts or not.

You obtain credits towards your degree, and these are subtracted from the total units required for the degree.  There should be a 1 for 1 correlation to your required classes, so you no longer require those classes.

For all new classes, your new GPA is calculated
