Sucks.
That is all. |

It's a helluva lot better than hotmail. So happy I made the switch a couple years ago. Word. Slutmail is a spam filled sewer thats slow, loses email, and looks like SHIT on any browser other then IE. Also, Slutmail pumps out so much spam that they frequently get blacklisted and firewalled. Gmail isn't perfect, but its the best of the free email services. |

I don't have a problem with yahoo. Am I the only one? I used both - Yahoo gets the spam prone stuff. Gmail is for family. I like them both but honestly I think I like yahoo a bit better but have been using them for way too many years! I've been using Yahoo as my primary email for over 10 years. It's worked fine for me and have no reason to give it up. |

The only people I've ever heard complain about it, are the ones too lazy to learn what makes it the best free email service out there.
Nor do they bother to take advantage of everything else they offer. For free, google gives me: -Calendar that integrates/syncs wirelessly with my phone. -Contacts that integrate/sync wirelessly with my phone. -Voicemail service that transcribes and then SMS texts incoming voicemails, and then I can listen to them in my gvoice inbox without using minutes, and creating custom voicemail messages for individual numbers. -A shell around all my telephone numbers that brings telephone service to the 21st century, with $.02 per minute international calls, number blocking, and call recording. -A fully featured RSS reader. -XMPP instant messenger with video chat, all from the browser. Last but not least, 7.5 gigs of email storage space per email address, protected by industry leading spam filters that are improved every time someone hits the 'report spam' button, and are accessible via POP. I get maybe one spam email squeak through into my inbox PER MONTH. So, uh, how's that hotmail and yahoo thing working out for you? |
| Another Yahoo! user here. I have a Gmail account I use for registering on sites I never want to hear from beyond my account activation, but only check it when I am in the process of activating said account. I can't say that I prefer one over the other, just that I have had the Yahoo! account longer so it is my primary communication email. |

A little tip for those hesitant to switch because everyone already has your current email address.
If you were lucky enough to initially pick one that didn't totally suck, you should be able to setup forwarding. IIRC, hotmail is such a steaming pile, they don't allow forwarding. Start using your new gmail account, and have the old account forward to gmail. |

S L O W to load. Yeah, I have the unfortunate circumstance of living in the sticks and as such am stuck with dial-up service but......Yahoo loads fine. As does Hotmail. But your so beloved G-mail......S L O W.
I've already spoken to my ISP. Tried to use the standard, older version of G-mail. Switched to Google Chrome... still S L O W. The only way it loads with halfway reasonable speed is if I use the HTML version. So, while you guys may have a hard-on for G-mail....I still think it sucks. |

They're easy to set up and download your e-mail straight off of the gmail server. It also stores it locally, so if your obviously crappy ISP goes down, you can still read your old e-mails. |

Quoted: I like it, I would like it even better if I could create folders. Use labels. Set up the labels you want as the folders. Tag the emails you want gone, then select them and "archive" them. They will dissapear from your inbox and tada they show up under the labels. |
