well is it?
or is it a permanent fixture/modification... |

I think it depends on the size of the hole, I also suspect I read that here as I cannot imagine reading about such drivel anywhere else Yeah, I come here to learn important things too. Like Wal-Mart stories. I can't belive I read 6 pages of discussion about Dave_A, that will never impact my life other than the evening wasted. |

well is it? or is it a permanent fixture/modification... Pretty much permanent, but it depends on whether it is .410 gage or 28 gage. Above 28 gage, it's likely permanent. Below .410, there is some recovery possible. Above that, reconstructive surgery is likely to be called for. |

Quoted: Quoted: What is the point of doing this, political, cultural, just rebellion? There must be some logic behind this, I don't get it. Rebellion. Excellence elsewhere is too hard. So they try to look different to stand out. So it's kind of like seeing who can pick and eat the biggest bugger contest, now it makes sense. ![]() |

yes. completely reversable. like dying your hair. go for it! Oh no., not I.....I've always had a wild streak but never would I let it take over my conservative appearance...Plus, I've earned every one of my gray hairs. I have never nor would ever dye my hair or beard. |

I know a few people who have gauged ears. I think what they told me is that past size 2 you'll have to get surgery to correct them. Sounds about right. I know it's somewhere between 4 and 0 that you're most likely looking at surgery to fix it. I've got my ears at 3/4" right now. Had them out to 00's a few years back, then didn't wear them for about a year and a half. Even after not wearing them for roughly a year and a half, there was still a hole you could see through, not a very large one, but when I put them back in, I started back at a 0. After a certain point you will not ever have them fully closed, or even to the point that there isn't a visible hole in the ear. |

I'm glad with my generation it was just long hair, goofy looking jeans and T shirts with retarded sayings on them. Since I burned all the pictures years ago, I've got plausible deniability. Fucked up ears, facial tattoos, split tongues is a kind of stupid that's going to follow you long after you (hopefully) stop being stupid.

My piercer has said that 4g is the safest bet for everyone, any larger will depend on the person as to if it'll go back to normal. I think the method you go about stretching has a big part to play, scar tissue, etc?? There's only one good method to stretching, slow incremental increases, with plenty of healing time. Skin is flexible, so as long as you do slight increases at a slow rate, you will never deal with scar tissue. |

If someone wants to get a tattoo that's cool and all but WOW, some of the stuff the "kid's" are doing these days is like.....

The generation now coming of age, however, have been raised with no such education. They couldn't fail classes as long as they showed up most of the time, every time they were threatened with a consequence they were subsequently let off the hook, as long as they "tried", results didn't matter... So of course they're not seriously considering the consequencs of covering their necks with permanent doodles or marked up their faces or stretching their earlobes to look like Jenna Jamison's pussy lips. They're all unique little snowflakes. |

When I think back to what was considered 'bad' when I was a teenager its laughable by todays standards. Long hair and leather jackets...mayyyyyybe a small hidden tattoo that was only visible in the summer at the beach. Guys started doing the earing thing when I was in highschool but most of the 'normal' guys just figured those dudes were gay The permanent stuff I see kids do today is alarming....really makes me wonder what the parents are like. |

Had my left gauged 4, 6, 8 in the left, looked interesting with the steel 1/2" semi curves. The right was a solid 0 plug, 4-2 was a BITCH and 2-0 would make a whore sweat.
Had to take them out the left healed and closed almost solid quick, no issue. The right is about an open 8 still after almost 10 years. |

Quoted: .410 is a bore, not a gage. It's a measurement in inches, just the same as caliber. Guage refers to the bore size in number of lead balls of that size equal 1 pound.Quoted: well is it? or is it a permanent fixture/modification...
