I posted this elsewhere, but I guess I will try here too.

I have recently purchased a new machine and it does not have a game port where I can plug in my really old but really loved thrustmaster stick. I like the stick so I would rather not get a new one with a USB plug. The only thing I really use it for is Flight Simulator.

Does any one have a recommendation regarding an adapter I can use to get the stick to work? I have seen a device which has a game port plug on one end and a USB on the other, but I read bad reviews of it. Any recommendations on a good PCI card I can install with a game port on it? I have the slots available. Also, the new machine runs vista, should I expect problems using the old stick even with an adapter? If so I guess I might as well part with it and just buy a new joystick.

Also, if a new stick is the answer I would like to hear some recommendations on that. I like the realistic feel. I have a little flying experience (ran out of the cash required to finish lessons) and the really loose totally whisbang sticks annoy me.

Any insight would be appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for the tips.  I think I have decided to keep it simple an just get a USB stick.
