This one woman is cooking and using "Garlic from a JAR"

Friggin YUCK!!!!

If it isnt fresh garlic... fuhgetaboutit. She used it on EVERY dish she made.

Powdered garlic is ok to ACCENT flavor but this jar shit is for the birds. Has NO flavor AT ALL!

Please... FOR THE CHILDREN... BAN GARLIC IN A JAR!!!

If you like garlic from a gar because it spreads easily on steaks etc.
Chop it up a few days before, put it in water, not in refridgerator, and let it sit.

When my grandmother would make meatloaf she would put a solid strip of that bottled crap on the top about an inch wide and a half in deep , that was the nastiest thing ever, she would always make two, one with the garlic and one without and the one with the garlic would sit for a week.

All the garlic from a jar I get is straight from Gilroy, which is about 10 minutes away from where I live. The garlic is pretty moist and I find has as good of flavor if not better then dried out cloves.

The garlic in a jar that I've tried has always had a very good and strong flavor.  A little bit would always go a long ways.

Big plus 1

Garlic is my favorite herb. I used to eat garlic cloves when I was a kid but it made me smell funky when I would sweat. That's the only reason I don't eat them now. Garlic is a gift from God.

Took the family to this past Garlic Festival in Gilroy.  We got there at opening, hungry and ready to eat.  We stuffed ourselves went back to the hotel to kick back in the pool and then went back there for dinner.  In hindsight there wasn't as much garlic themed food as I thought there would be.  It was like paying to go to a carnival and having to buy food from the booths there.  It was fun, but I don't see making it a yearly thing.

Gilroy bills itself as the "Garlic Capital", Kern County however grows about twice as much garlic as Gilroy.  We just also grow
80% or the Roses in the U.S.
Unbelievable amounts of Almonds
Shitloads of Grapes
Huge amounts of Onions
A very large amount of Tomatos
Walnuts
Pistachios
Sugar Beets
Watermelons
Corn
and a bunch of other stuff I can't think of right now.

Fellow garliholic here

Nothing like fresh garlic - but in a pinch, I'll take any kind.

I stay away from garlic - the ladies appreciate the positive effect such a diet has on certain 'tastes'.

Garlic is nasty crap, I'll take good ole powdered garlic any day over the fresh stuff.

(my mother burned me out on that crap when I was younger, still can't stand to smell fresh garlic)
