| New to mountain biking and was looking at the Giant Revel 1. Any thoughts? Looking for a decent entry model with front suspension. |

Good entry level bike to see if you like the sport. I say ride it til either you can outride the bikes capabilities or the bike gives out. Then you can upgrade to a bike that better fits your biking needs if needed. Giant makes a great bike - I ride a Giant Talon and love it |

Thanks for the input. I'm looking forward to getting started. Just as a heads up- for the first 6 months to a year you might say to yourself- This sux and I'm not doing this again !!! what was I thinking ?? " Just know that it takes a while to get your endurance up to the point where it takes your riding to the next level & where you can ride a trail and not stop every 10 minutes or push your bike up the hills . Just stay with it and don't give up. If you get hooked it becomes a true passion. Welcome to the sport and a helmet and gloves are your best friend |

After trying a few I ended up with the Giant Talon 1 29er. It rode the best. I do see where some say the forks aren't stiff enough but I'm still playing with that. I do like the lock out for on road use though. Good choice i just picked up my Giant Talon 0 Friday. Little sore but im getting the hang of it again
