Now i understand what my Daddy meant when he said -

"Son when you get to my age, what doesn't hurt, doesn't work."

I have a torn meniscus in my left.  I refuse to have it corrected until I absolutely MUST.
But I'm back at the gym 5x a week regardless.

You could be recovering from having a fusion in your neck.

light tear in my medial four years ago playing soccer with my kid when I spread and lunged for the ball too quick for my age (by habit, college ball and FIFA card until 1985)

Ortho surgeon with the fancy office and free snacks and drinks in the waiting room
scheduled surgery.

Went to sports guy at UPMC here that works on NFL players, he told me to
take it light for a year or two if I could and all would be better, cutting would ultimately make it weaker in advanced age

Followed his advice and cancelled the other guys Porsche payment.

Seems to be fine now; have skied two years on it

I'll be 60 in a year and a half.
So far I'm hanging in there pretty well.

My only problem so far is presbyopia and the beginning of some rotator cuff problems in my right shoulder...

This.

I turned 50 last October and had a fusion in November.  My chest and tricep muscles lost strength and atrophied and as of now, I'm only physically able to do 5 pushups.
