Global Hawk wing skins are are glued on to the ribs and spars.  There are a few mechanical fasteners, but all within 6 feet of  butt line 0.

Te rest of the wing is all "glue".  A matrix of sealant anf glass beads basically.
The skins are darn near an inch thick!


Pretty cool i thought.  I wonder the reasoning for it???

My buddy builds and works on them.  If I remember I'll ask him next time I talk to him, though he really can't talk about a lot of what he does.

I got to do some composite construction, repair, and inspection on a large UAV at my first DOD contract gig.  I'm really disappointed that company was so poorly run because they had a great product.

The way those things are put together is just damn cool.

Not sure what parts he specifically works on or does, but he has been on the project for many years now.
