in the Model 17 and model 19.
Is the width of the slide, and the width of the grip the same on Gen4's and all other 9mm models? |

It's been largely corrected. Also consider that there are more Glocks than any other brand of automatic handgun, so there are going to be more failures by number, if not percentage. The joke isn't without its foundations. |

Glock doesn't have the market cornered on unsupported chambers. ![]() Lulz, Glock chambers have FAR more unsupported case area than either of the Browning guns. Older Glocks especially, with 10mm and .40S&Ws being the worst. There are some other factors at play, such as unsupported brass displacement volume, and the danger of that displacement volume exceeding the amount of deformation without separation that the case is capable of. You can have a huge "unsupported" area, with low displacement volume, and things are fine, except for short case reloading life. It's high displacement volume that is really risky. |

Glock, indeed, made grenades. Making guns that explode tends to earn you a reputation, moreso than making self-loading firearms that sometimes don't self-load. |

What does Glock have to do with Grenades? because of the gen4's new pineapple grenade type texture? Some early .40 Glocks ruptured due to overpressure ammo and ample chamber dimensions. People that like Bubba guns and WWI relics like to throw this out as an un-argument when they have nothing substantial to say. |

My home town cops are dumping Glocks because of problems with overpressure ammo that Glock assured them the guns could handle. This has been a saga that started years ago... Two different types of ammo later, and they are still having problems, so it looks like they're going to go with M&Ps instead. Glocks have a lot of nice attributes. They also have their issues. And they are, increasingly, failing to improve their products or innovate, despite obvious room for improvement. I won't be selling any of mine... They are great beaters, and handy due to common logistical support. But to blindly ignore their flaws is rather silly. Walther PPQ M2 FTW. |

Not a shred of critical thought between them, typically because they lack the experience to appreciate the benefits of each platform. Every platform has its flaws. The shitty factory sights, lack of a true full-size variant, and retarded (shared with Glock) trigger guard shape are my complains on the PPQ M2 thus far. Overall, though, the only thing it loses compared to a Glock 19 is logistical commonality. Which, when you own Glock 19s already, is kind of unneeded... Especially with half of the Glock parts being non-interchangeable these days anyway. |

I am "married" to Glock now because of mags and holsters, but if I lost everything in a fire I would highly consider Walther or S&W. The Glock "grenade" silliness just gets extremely fucking old. As far as I know, a group of men who are very well versed in shooting people in the face chose the G22 for their sidearm recently. I'm sure ARFCOM GD knows more that they do though? |

| Most Glock failures were attributed to shooting non-jacketed lead projectiles which gum up the barrels very quickly. I purchased a 10MM Model 20 when they first were produced. Shortly thereafter Glock improved the receivers so I returned the entire weapon to Glock USA for a receiver upgrade. In order to keep my serial number the receiver was shipped to the Glock factory where the serial number plate was removed and attached to the new receiver during the molding process and returned to Glock USA where the weapon was reassembled. I'm sure Glock got a hint or two out of my 20 when it arrived for the upgrade because the huge backstrap was cut off and contoured with with steel bed which corrected its aim high problem. And the ejection port was beveled so it slung spent brass about 15 feet which prevented stove-pipes. If you want to know for sure what will fit and not fit give Glock USA a call or perhaps send an e-mail. |

I'm sure ARFCOM GD knows more that they do though? Good grief, it's a joke, and one Glock earned. As a whole, the Glock 22 is a perfectly reasonable sidearm these days, and has been for a while. I never claimed otherwise. As for the S&W... Ehhh... I'd advise against them overall... That trigger is fucking horrid... I shouldn't have to replace half the damn innards to have a non-craptastic trigger with an actual tactile reset... Bad enough a Glock needs a replacement "-" connector. Plus S&Ws obsession with using roll pins in places they do not belong kind of bugs me. A bunch of other small issues too... Not the worst platform out there, but one I wouldn't bother owning, which says something. It's worth noting that said unit uses Glocks with improved connectors for a crisper trigger. The PPQ has a massively better trigger out of the box, without needing to be "fixed". Also, said unit was apparently the driving force behind Gen 3 RTF 2, which were the most badass Glocks ever, of all time... Which, of course, Glock promptly discontinued. A good chuck of why I have little hope for that platform... Even when they improve it, they discontinue the improvement. |
