In comparison, I have been advised by locals that in Jakarta, Indonesia, if people in normal housing neighborhoods leave a halfway decent pair of shoes right in front of their doors overnight, the shoes will usually be gone by morning. |

This resort is almost empty. Last month they were shut down for lack of customers, they just opened back up 3 weeks ago. Just myself and 2 other couples are here now. Therefore im free to change rooms whenever I want to. Top left room was my room last night. Thats where I took the balcony pictures and video at 6AM this morning. Always wanted to go to the far east like Thailand, Philippines or Japan. Trouble is I don't even know where to start planning a trip. Get a plane ticket, hotel....and then? . For someone who's never been outside the US before, is Thailand a reasonable place? Is it unreasonable to go alone? |

I did years of research mainly watching YouTube videos of guys that live here , travel around and make videos. Be it a resort, hotel, island, or a cool beach. Then I plan a trip to that area and have all the spots that I want to see already mapped out. As for going alone, yes for me that's my favorite way to travel. When you travel with someone then it is always a compromise as to where you are going to go and what you are going to do. But when traveling alone its easy to meet friends here everywhere you go but you are not obligated to spend all of your time with them. First you need to get a passport. Then plan locations that you want to visit as I noted above. I have to admit that doing all the necessary paperwork to come to Thailand during this covid shit was the hardest task that I ever had to do. Hopefully by the time you have done your research the covid travel restrictions will have been lifted. Then just look on places like expedia.com for plane tickets. Plan on more than 2 weeks vacation as you lose a day and a half traveling each way then you also have jetlag when you get here as its 11-12 hours ahead of the USA here. |

I did an island tour of all of this today. It was the most awesome thing that I have ever seen. Literally no other tourists out here doing tours and there hasn't been for almost 2 years now because of the chinese bio weapon. Only saw maybe 4 boats that were just fishermen. It literally was just myself, the boat captain and my new friend from the resort that came along as my tour guide in all this vast ocean area. Saw a few big tour boats anchored and rusty just waiting until next month for things to open up again. I've hundreds of videos and pictures to sort out but first there is beer to drink. Dinner at the resort. Spaghetti with crab in a spicy curry sauce. Shrimp spring rolls. Those chip thingys at top of plate IDK what they are called, very lite crunchy and come with sweet dipping sauce. Coconut iced coffee latte. I'm not much into lattes much less on ice as I prefer strong black hot coffee, but I tried one last night for dinner and it was awesome so I had another tonight. Wait until I get the time to transfer the pictures of the island mountain through cave and the hike "path" ladder climb up to the cave high up the mountain. When a Thai person tells you "becareful it's dangerous". You better believe him.  These series of "ladders" have been unused, unmaintained, and sitting in this damp humidity getting eaten by bugs for 2 years before I ventured up. Oh watch out for that 3rd step. The block count depends upon the size floor area you want to cover. It might take 6 days of nothing but block production to account for the floor area of an average house (5000 blocks or so).
