Not in the NCAA. They go by league record for the title and the head-to-head only matters for the bowl bid.

Coaches with "contracts" are fired or retire all the time. Personally, I'll be shocked if JoPa doesn't retire after this year. This may be his only opportunity to go out on a successful note. |
